[Resolved] March 22nd-23rd, 2021: Elevated Crash Rate in the Tumblr Android App

This issue has been resolved. Please update the Android app if you are still having any issues.

Here's our original announcement from the incident:

On March 22nd, an issue with the Android system WebView caused the Tumblr app (and many other apps) to crash. Google has fixed the problem on their end.

If you are still experiencing any issues with the Android app, updating Android System WebView and Google Chrome via Google Play should help. Here's how to do that:

1. Navigate to the Play Store app;
2. Search for Android System WebView (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview);
3. Select the “Update” option;
4. Repeat these steps for Google Chrome (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome).
